SUMMER 2007 PRESS RELEASE

This Summer Big by Fiona Scanlan drifts into consciousness with sun bleached colours and pre-loved cottons. The offering is a tantalizing closet full of hand me downs and a summer fresh with new escapades. The label once again leads the way in children’s wear, with an innovative palette and unique approach to style.

Big by FS proves the dress to be the item of the season for little girls. Art and craft is the first day of play; Patchwork smocks have a homemade feel with a cacophony of mismatched prints. Apron style dresses have oversized pockets that can hold all the world’s treasures and chambray tunics are laced with neck charms that little fingers will love to clutch.
Garden parties are served up deliciously with daisy-chain laced smocks, shirred cotton shirting and gingham shifts. The white-washed broderie picnic dress and bib front sundress conjure long afternoons in the shade of a Moreton Bay, coconut ice and lemonade fuelling the day. Embroidered and patchwork butterflies float across simple terry and cotton t-shirt dresses for everyday play.

Cardy’s, skinny striped tees, ribbed tanks and leggings all work together for summer styling. Tie side bloomers sit perfectly under flower printed smocks, crochet cardy’s or printed swing shaped tees. Rugby stripes are brash and bold in a pocket hoody dress and skirt and the oversized stripe cotton hood is comfy and boyish.
The Lenny Print of breezy dandelions is a fresh and clean floral for the fussiest of wearers, and the Peace Flower print is retro and girly in summery 60’s swing dress and pleated skirt.

BIG by FS sweat basics have become a celebrated asset of the label in it’s practicality as an answer to sportswear. Everyday hoody’s and bockers are worn comfortably with marle tees and striped tanks or haphazardly with wonderwings and ruffle placket blouses.
Denim and canvas is another staple, this season in a skinny leg slouch jean and pant and a ‘pieced together’ a-line skirt. Denim is bleached back and textured, while the canvas is double-washed.

BIG by Fiona Scanlan’s colour palette arches from navy, patriot blue and cerulean to soft orange, melon and peach melba. As Summer intensifies, colours feel softer and washed with milk, peach bud, sky and hints of silver metallic.

The fantasy factor is amped up with ballet inspired fairy dresses and full tutu skirts; floating layers of tuelle flowing from metallic bodices. The frou dress in angel and peach is equally decadent with voluminous net skirt. Frou can be lavishly applied for seriously girly girls, with feather boa trinkets and neck ties or made prim with puff sleeve cardy’s.

Big by Fiona Scanlan’s summertime girls are fresh and fun, chaotic and curious, witty and wild; this season spirited girls are fulfilled with a selection of covetable pieces for every imagination.

Zlata and Tracy! I am BIG fan of BIG (ha!) and am really interesting in the new bigger girls range. When I click on that photo though - the image doesn't go larger...is there another way to see it all?
